Build an entire skincare routine under £50

Everyone's skin is different, so it's hard to find a one size fits all product when it comes to skincare, especially when you're on a budget. To give you a helping hand, Kindred. has created a full skin-care routine for just under £50 based on your skin type - whether that be oily, dry or sensitive.

If you feel your skin type doesn't fall into any of these categories, then you might be one of the lucky ones with normal skin. If that's the case, you can incorporate elements of all three of these skin-care routines to benefit your skin's needs.

For those of you with combination skin, use products that are suitable both for oily and dry skin, depending on how your skin feels and the problem areas.

Dry Skin

For dry skin, a skincare routine full of hydrating products is essential to help in repairing your skin's barrier.

A good place to start is with The Inkey List Hyaluronic acid cleanser (£9.99). Many cleansers and facial washes dry the skin out, however as this is infused with hyaluronic acid (an acid that locks in moisture), it will leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

After cleansing your face, go straight in with The Ordinary's Hyaluronic acid 2% and B5 (£5.75) on damp skin to lock in the extra moisture.

For a moisturiser, Cerave's Moisturising Cream (£5.00) helps restore dry irritated skin, and it's not greasy, which can be an issue with many heavy-duty moisturisers.

Every few days, you may also want to use an exfoliant like the Boots Ingredients Lactic Acid Serum (£5.00). Lactic acid is gentler than other exfoliants, so it won't cause any extra dryness.

Sensitive Skin

When it comes to sensitive skin, it's good to opt-in for products that don't have many perfumes or added ingredients in them, otherwise, this will just irritate your skin even further.

Simple's Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash (for only £4.60), is a great way to start your routine as the clue is in the name: simple. With no artificial perfume or colour, no soap or alcohol and no harsh chemicals, it gently cleanses your skin without irritating it.

Using acids in skincare has been a game-changer for many, but for those with sensitive skin, using acids can be like a disaster waiting to happen. The Ordinary's Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% (£5.50) is perfect for more sensitive skin as it is not as intense as other acids, but it tackles uneven skin tone and any scarring.

To seal the products you've applied, the La Roche-Posay's Tolriane Sensitive Moisturiser (£16.50) is a must as it was made for sensitive skin. It's full of soothing and healing ingredients to help decrease skin's sensitivity over time.

For gentle exfoliation, incorporate The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid 7% Toning solution (£6.80) into your routine a few times a week before applying any serums.

Oily skin

CeraVe's Foaming Cleanser with Niacinamide for Normal to Oily skin (£9.50), is a great cleanser for those who have oily skin. Helping to get rid of excess oil, the cleanser also supports the skin's natural barrier function.

A holy grail product for most skin types, but particularly oily skin, is Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant (£9.00). This exfoliant is lightweight and gets rid of dead skin cells both on the surface and deep inside pores to reveal smoother, more radiant-looking skin.

The Inkey List's Niacinamide Serum (£6.99) is a good product to incorporate into your daily routine as it balances oil production, reduces redness and post-inflammatory swelling, all without leaving your skin feeling stripped as it is formulated with hyaluronic acid.

Simple's Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser (£4.60) is ideal if you have oily skin due to its thin consistency, meaning it won't block your pores, creating excess oil or causing breakouts.

Let's not forget SPF!

Any good skin-care routine isn't complete without a good SPF, no matter what your skin type is. La Roche-Posay's Anthelios Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid Sun Cream SPF50 (£16.50) is a brilliant all-rounder for all skin types as it is formulated specifically for facial use with sensitive skin in mind, as well as being hydrating but not greasy.
