New Music Friday: Tracks from HASZNAT, Sidders and more!

Guess what? It's time to dive straight into New Music Friday with a fresh new set of releases that we here at Kindred. think are essential listens right now! As we're set to endure a massive heatwave this coming weekend, why not get acquainted with some sun-soaked vibes from Sidders or discover experimental, rising artist HASZNAT? Here are some of the best tracks currently out there, chosen especially for you.

HASZNAT - ADRENALINE

London-based Audio-Visual artist and Creative Director HASZNAT has burst onto the scene with an urge to express themselves and create experimental EDM and Electropunk. 'ADRENALINE' is sonically inspired by London's nightlife as well as euphoric freedom, as HASZNAT prepares their forthcoming EP HASZNATONLINE. Describing their new double single (as it features the 'NIGHTCORE EDITION') as "an ode to their ability to find lightness in life through self-awareness", HASZNAT is using this track as a reconnection to their younger self.

Kymara - New Road

Dutch-born and Brighton-based neo-soul singer Kymara unveiled her brand new EP, New Road, which followed on from two of her previous jazz-infused singles released earlier this year. Having begun writing New Road during lockdown due to the frustration of not being able to play and rehearse with her band, Kymara says the EP is "a record that addresses the tumultuous plight of the modern twenty-something. It’s about the most poignant emotions I've experienced throughout my twenty-somethings so far; especially those feelings attached to being a woman. It’s about my romantic relationships, the relationships I have with my family and friends and the love-hate relationship I have with myself sometimes."

Sidders - Home Alone

From receiving co-signs from members of Lava La Rue's NiNE8 Collective, Sidders has bounced back onto the scene with his brand new track, 'Home Alone' - a track that is sun-soaked and ready to get us into holiday mode. Influenced by Kendrick Lamar, Loyle Carner and Sampha, Sidders is slowly but surely navigating his way through the music scene with his infectious sounds.

Obongjayar - New Man

Following up on his album release, Obongjayar released the brand new video for the single, 'New Man', which was directed by Chukwuka Nwobi and filmed in Lagos, Nigeria.

Touching on topics ranging from self-discovery to rebirth, Obongjayar writes: “This one is for US! No more being timid about who I am or following in footsteps that have led nowhere! I am creating my own road. That's the sentiment behind the track and when I spoke to Chuka about that, he put together an idea that was the most performance-led video I’ve made before - nowhere to hide!”

CICERO - Miss Me

Dropping her summer-infused single 'Miss Me' just in time for the heatwave, rising singer/rapper/songwriter CICERO had spent a lot of time out of the spotlight and writing for other artists before pursuing her own music. Hailing from West London, 'Miss Me' is a track touching on female-empowerment and self-worth and she draws influences from the likes of Summer Walker, Bree Runway and Amy Winehouse.
