With this year gradually coming to a close, it's safe to say that it has been a tremendous year when it comes to music releases through 2021. As Christmas Day is soon approaching, we have a festive edition of new music to send you off into your holiday celebrations and festivities. Bryson Tiller - A Different Christmas
Contemporary R&B singer Bryson Tiller released a festive-themed album titled A Different Christmas featuring Kiana Ledé, Justin Bieber and Tayla Parx which is filled to the brim of warm, R&B tones. With his daughter Halo featuring on the album on tracks such as "Winter Wonderland", the album captures some themes of loneliness which Tiller experienced himself, but it is overridden by the albums festive joy. With vocals smoother than mulled wine, Bryson Tiller has once again proved his versatility as an artist.
Norah Jones - I Dream Of Christmas
2000s singer and songwriter Norah Jones released her first ever Christmas album I Dream Of Christmas featuring a delightful selection of festive classics that are guaranteed to put you in the Christmas spirit. The 9-time GRAMMY winner has carefully moulded this album together that explores the complicated emotions of our times as well as showcasing themes of joy and togetherness. “I’ve always loved Christmas music but never had the inclination to make a holiday album until now,” Norah says. “Last year I found myself listening to James Brown’s Funky Christmas and Elvis’s Christmas Album on Sunday’s during lockdown for a sense of comfort. In January 2021, I started thinking about making a Christmas album of my own. It gave me something fun to work on and look forward to.”
Pentatonix - Evergreen
Pentatonix showcased their holiday themed album just in time for the end of the year titled Evergreen. This brand new album will be the sixth holiday themed album by the group which features their own versions of Christmas originals as well as some newer tracks that feature Lindsey Stirling and Alessia Cara. The group also live streamed a show titled 'The Evergreen Experience' ahead of the album release. Scott Hoying from the group mentioned, "This is such a special show for us, and such a great experience to perform on our first tour in two years, so we wanted all our fans around the world to get a chance to see it."
Kelly Clarkson - When Christmas Comes Around
In time for your festivities, Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to producing a Christmas album or two. Her latest release When Christmas Comes Around features Ariana Grande. The album also features original tracks such as “Merry Christmas (To the One I Used to Know),” “Glow” with Chris Stapleton and classics tracks like “Jingle Bell Rock” and George Michael’s “Last Christmas.”
Meghan Trainor - A Very Trainor Christmas
Meghan Trainor unveiled a deluxe version of her Christmas album A Very Trainor Christmas featuring some old festive tracks as well as her own additions. She puts her own twist on the classic Darlene Love track "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" as well as serving her own catchy original "Christmas Coupon".
