This week kicks off with a brand-new set of releases from a wide variety of artists who have made waves across the industry. With a selection of tracks from some people you might know and some you will just be getting introduced to, let us take a look at Kindred's top picks of the week.
Nia Archives - 18 & Over
Sampling Cocoa Tea's 1987 Reggae track "Young Lover", Nia Archives sprinkles her own energetic twist on this jungle and drum and bass track for our sound system lovers. Whilst she injects the track with her own vocals and pays homage to her Jamaican heritage, Nia Archives also included trippy visuals that reference rave culture, directed by TaliaBle. "We kept things even more local by asking Hackney native Mark Solution if we could set up his wicked ‘Solution Soundsystem’ - It was an honour to feature it in my video. There are also some references to the original record that I sampled for viewers to spot," Nia Archives says.
SL - Playtime
South-London rapper, SL returns with new single "Playtime", fit with a stop motion figurine of himself as well as portraying childhood dreams. The single has SL continuing to lead his pathway within grime and drill whilst portraying a toy story-esque visual that has the masked musician delving into his artistic side as well as showcasing his regular tough bars. The single come after his most recent EP, Selhurst SE25, which was produced by American artist Kenny Beats.
Nix Northwest - The Occasional L
